Deprecating the Jupyter Notebook IDE option

We are in the process of removing the Jupyter Notebook IDE from the platform because it cannot support everything DataRobot provides for creating machine learning models.

Instead, you will be able to bring your own training and inference code into DataRobot. Support for code written in any language and relying on arbitrary environment and dependencies will be provided in upcoming DataRobot releases.

Important dates

  • On March 17, 2020, DataRobot will disable the Jupyter Notebook IDE option, and you won’t be able to create new notebooks. DataRobot will continue to provide support, security, and other critical updates to existing models until June 19, 2020.
  • On June 19, 2020, the Jupyter Notebook IDE option will no longer be available.

If you’ve been using the Jupyter Notebook IDE option to bring your own Python or R code to DataRobot, we know that this is a disruptive change, and we are ready to help you with this transition.
