Community News and Updates—October 2021

You may have seen how busy September was, with the announcements for Release 7.2 and the DataRobot AI Cloud Platform. But instead of spending October glued to the couch, binge-watching all the trending shows, we’ve been making plans for some sweeping new changes and new opportunities to get involved.

Let’s get right to those changes since they’re going to make getting the right help, at the right time, even easier. In addition to our community-powered forum, DataRobot provides other ways to get help and learn about the platform:

  • Product documentation, for platform and API docs, detailed tutorials, and more.
  • DataRobot University, for practical data science education and DataRobot certifications.
  • Pathfinder, our marketplace of Solution Accelerators (Notebooks, AI Apps, Integrations, etc), with 100s of different AI use cases.

In our near roadmap, we have plans to bring these help resources together to make navigating between them effortless. As a first (really big) step toward that roadmap, we’re making some significant changes in the community. Okay, this is the important part.

Important Part

Over the next couple of weeks, we’re streamlining the community UX and content to make asking questions and finding answers even easier. We’ll be removing content from the Watch and Read categories and, over time, refreshing and reposting them to these and other DataRobot help resources. This means Learning Sessions and Quick Video Demos under Watch, and Knowledge Base articles and Blog articles under Read will be moving from the community:

(*Tip of the Day posts will stay in the community.)(*Tip of the Day posts will stay in the community.)

What Does This Mean to You?

Although we plan to make so much of the content available again, please take this time to make local copies of Watch and Read content you enjoy or rely on. By November's community newsletter, I hope to be able to share where to find the refreshed and reposted content.

Community Rockstars

During October, some of your peers were really active—asking questions, helping others get answers, and posting helpful discussions in the community. Have a look for yourself, and maybe you’ll see your own name on those lists!

Other Happenings

- In May, code-centric data scientists using the DataRobot platform rejoiced when Zepl joined the DataRobot family. This month, @RickLowe posted some great tips for using the Zepl cloud-native, self-service notebook in the DataRobot AI Cloud Platform. Check out DataRobot Zepl code snippets make your life easier and Scheduling Jobs with Zepl Notebooks.

- The new DataRobot Pathfinder hit the scene just over a month ago and is getting a lot of attention.  Have a use case you’d like to see covered by DR Pathfinder? Let us know!

- In a new blog, "independent or hobbyist data scientist" Dawn Moyer gives a review of her recent test drive of DataRobot AI Cloud Platform Trial. She highlights the value of AutoML and explains the process she followed to sign up for the trial and run demos. (If you haven't already, sign up for the trial and test drive it yourself.)

- More from beyond the community: Brewer AB InBev’s recent article explains how DataRobot is helping them “work faster and better and also expand the availability of AI.”

Hoping these bits of news and info help you stay in the community loop. We’ve received great feedback from members like you and are working on plans to put them into play. Make sure to sign in and participate today. Ready to share ideas? Comment here, send email to, or shoot me a community DM (@Linda)
