Create data connector using sql server 2014

hi..
I am new to Paxata and currently using trial version of it. 
I have SQL Server 2014 installed on my machine and I am trying to read a table from my local database using paxata, cleanse it using paxata and then store it in the same database (in different table)
The first thing where I need help is to create database connection (or data connector).

Please help!

You state that your SQL Server is on your local machine, which may be a problem. Paxata's requires a routable fully qualified domain name (FQDN) / IP address in order to establish connectivity to your data stores.

If your local machine IP address is in any of the following ranges, it cannot be used for any inbound connectivity as these are non-routable IP address ranges.  
  • 127.0.0.1 / localhost
  • 10.1.1.1 to 10.255.255.254
  • 172.16.1.1 to 172.31.255.254
  • 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.255.254
If you do have a routable IP address and the SQL Server port is open to receive inbound connections, you could create a connection using the JDBC Connector like this: 
  1. Go to the Paxata Library
  2. On the left-hand menu, click "Data Sources"
  3. Click the "+" button to add a Data Source configuration
  4. In the "Connector Type" dropdown list, select "SQL-Server-jdbc"
  5. Provide a "NAME"
  6. Database URI:  jdbc:sqlserver://hostname.example.com:1433;databaseName=example
  7. - Replace "hostname.example.com" with your routable hostname / IP address
  8. - Replace "1433" with the port of your SQL Server (1433 is standard for SQL Server)
  9. - Replace "example" with the name of the database on your server
  10. Credentials: provide username and password for your database user. 
  11. Test the connection and Save.
