With only the standard installation of Excel 2016 on your desktop, you have received a set, or multiple sets, of data from a system or another person. In most circumstances, this is a list of information with many rows and columns. The columns tend to have column names. The first thing that needs to be done is to evaluate the content to see how clean and complete it is. Then you will probably want to clean it, enrich it with other data, build calculations, re-arrange the information, etc.
Once you are done fixing the data to your liking, you might need to create summaries of the data or build some charts. This might be done in Excel or shared with another tool to build a dashboard or to use in a data science experiment. You also might be fixing the data for someone else, so they can use it in their data project.
