FAQ: How to share projects, deployments, and datasets?

Sharing a project

There are two ways to share a project on DataRobot platform.

Using the "Share" button

  1. With that project loaded in the DataRobot UI, select the Share icon.

  2. In the resulting dialog, type the names of the user(s), group(s), or organization(s) you would like to share the project with. As you type, names with similar characters are displayed for your selection.

  3. Specify their roles and click Share.

Using the Manage Projects control center

  1. Select the Projects icon.

  2. Click Manage Projects.

  3. Find the project in the list and click the Actions menu icon.

  4. Select Share.

  5. Type the names of the user(s), group(s), or organization(s) you would like to share the project with, and specify their roles. Then click Share.

Note: Also, from Menu you can select to share multiple projects at the same time. 

Sharing a deployment

  1. Click the Deployments tab.
  2. Find the required deployment and click the Actions menu icon.

  4. Type the names of the user(s), group(s), or organization(s) you would like to share the deployment with, and specify their roles. Then click Share.

Sharing a dataset (from AI Catalog)

  1. Navigate to the AI Catalog (top menu) and select the dataset to share.

  2. In the Dataset Info page, click Share.

  3. Type the names of the user(s), group(s), or organization(s) you would like to share the project with, and specify their roles. Then click Share.

I'd also mention that it's best practice to have a "house account" at your company. Share all deployed projects as well as deployments with that house account-- make them an "owner" and that way there is a reduced business continuity risk if an employee leaves the company.
